Orbis was formed in early 2017, with the goal of becoming the leading front-office talent recruitment firm to serve the global institutional asset management and private wealth management communities.

Brian Grover, Orbis’ founder has over 18 years of experience placing front-office asset management industry talent. His track record is impeccable, and he has over 800 successful placements on 5 continents under his belt.


Our clients represent the entire gamut of institutional and private wealth management and advisory firms. Many of our large clients are institutional asset management firms who range in size from, say, $1 billion AUM to as large as $250 billion AUM. You know the names. And, we have many other clients that focus on private wealth. They include multi-family offices, RIAs, private wealth advisory firms, private banks, etc. Still others do a bit of both. In fact, this is most common. Our average client is taking in capital from HNW individuals, family offices, RIAS, endowments, foundations, pensions and other LP types. But, many of clients only care about or are presently only ready for some of these LP types. For most of Brian Grover’s recruitment career, hedge funds were the predominant client. But, over the past 3-4 years, private markets firms (e.g., PE, private credit, venture capital and real estate, etc.) have been accounted for about 75% of GFTP’s revenue. Public markets or private markets – we are equally impressive.


We won’t start a search unless we are 100% confident, at the outset, that we can dazzle our client with our results. Indeed, we successfully close over 95% of the searches we commence in this practice area; we are indeed now exceptional at this. We plan to make this true for all four of our practice areas. More important to us than a successful placement, however, is that our work stands the test of time. We want to look back and see that our Finalist thrived with our Client over the short, medium and long-term. And, to put our money where our mouth is, we offer to replace any Orbis finalist for up to one year. In over 110 placements in 3.5 years, we have been asked to replace two Orbis finalists – both during Covid.


Our GITP team have successfully placed over 200 private markets and public markets investment professionals ranging from Junior analysts to portfolio managers, CIOs and even placing entire teams and helping to secure day-one funding for new investment fund launches. That’s not nothing! We have a particularly deep bench with respect real estate, private equity and private credit, and discretionary hedge fund investment talent placement. But we believe we can dazzle with any kind of discretionary investment talent placement, at any seniority level, anywhere in the world. And, again, if we think we can’t dazzle, we pass.
